We have been informed that a possible case of Covid-19 has been detected in a family with shared ties to Jesuit Dallas. There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus among Jesuit students, parents, faculty, and staff, however, in consideration of everyone’s safety we will be moving to an eLearning protocol for the remainder of the week (March 12-13).
Our faculty and students are prepared to deliver and receive content via Moodle, which allows us to maintain a learning environment while following the CDC’s recommended guidelines for mass gatherings. All extracurricular activities have been suspended through Friday. We are closely monitoring the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control and the Texas Department of State Health, and decisions regarding scheduled activity over spring break will be forthcoming as more information is made available.
As we prepare for the return from spring break, we will continue to follow all recommendations from the CDC and state health officials as it relates to cleaning protocols and travel advisories.
School administration is still working through our response for beyond spring break, however, given that the situation outside of our school community is rapidly evolving, we have not solidified those plans. As previously noted, we will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions based on facts and with the health and safety of our community as the primary focus.
This is a very challenging time, and I am grateful for how we are responding as a community. As always, we respect your decision to keep your son home if you ever have concerns regarding their health and ask that if your son or someone in your family has any symptoms, to please be sure and visit a health care professional. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
