Orphan Outreach

Dates: July 20-25, 2020

Program Description: This Guatemalan mission trip is in partnership with Orphan Outreach, a Plano-based ministry serving orphaned and vulnerable children around the world. In conjunction with their mission, the students will work to improve the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual lives of the children they serve.

While in Guatemala, the students will serve four days at various ministry sites, including community centers, a children’s AIDS orphanage, and a school for children and adults with Down Syndrome, in Antigua and Guatemala City. Highlights of the trip include:

  • Spend time playing, teaching, mentoring and sharing the love of God with children and youth
  • Implement Bible programs, including art, music, games, and life skills
  • Visit with families in their homes to learn about the daily struggles vulnerable families face, and commonalities shared, as people made in God’s image
  • Take a zip line excursion and shop in a local Guatemalan market
  • Tour one of the Catholic churches in historic Antigua
  • Participate in evening reflections and prayer
