Academic Information
Summer School and Athletic Performance
The Student/Parent Handbook for Summer School can be found at https://www.jesuitdallas.org/academics/summer/summer-school . Students are expected to follow all behavioral policies contained therein. Below are several highlighted policies:
ABSENCES: We expect you to attend every class; however, we realize illness occurs. As a limitation, on the second absence we may withdraw you from the class. A student enrolled in the For-Credit summer semester will not receive credit if he is removed from the class due to excessive absences. Jesuit reserves the right to decide on these issues.
DRESS CODE: Shirt with a collar, long trousers other than jeans are appropriate. Shoes should be any type other than sneakers, work-type boots, or sandals. Socks are required. See the handbook for details on grooming expectations.
CONDUCT: Students are expected to respect the mission of the school and policies outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook.
LUNCH: Lunch is available in the school cafeteria for anyone attending class or the Jesuit Athletic Performance Camp - it is included in the tuition. Students may also bring food from home to eat in the cafeteria.
Athletic Performance Camp
Jesuit will be offering a non-credit opportunity for summer training in physical fitness. This program/camp is optional for athletes and non-athletes.
Registration for Summer School and Athletic Performance will be available beginning at 8am on Monday, March 30th.Registration information will be provided to all families who have completed the enrollment steps at that time.
Drivers Education

Device Resources
Jesuit requires that all students supply their own laptop or Chromebook to be used for educational activities at school. Students are expected to bring their device fully charged to school every day. They should also bring appropriate charging materials.
Students attending Summer School should come prepared with their device on the first day.
Please visit https://www.jesuitdallas.org/students/resources for more information.
Medical/Health and Immunization Forms
Beginning in 2020-2021, all medical forms will be electronic and secure through HIPPA compliant programs. Details and forms will be sent electronically to all enrolled students.
Health and Immunization Forms
Health forms are completed by each student entering the Freshman class and transfer students. The form lists the student's history of immunizations and current physical condition. This form is kept on file at Jesuit for a period of ten (10) years after graduation. Texas state law requires that all students attending school must have current immunizations. Incomplete forms will be returned to the student. A report is generated each month to determine which students are not in compliance with the immunization requirements. Letters are then sent to the parent notifying them of the time they have to update a student's immunization record. Students who do not have Health forms on file by the end of the first day of school or do not return proof of immunizations by due dates will be asked to remain out of school until the verification of immunization is received. For further information regarding Texas state immunization requirements, please refer to: Department of Immunizations Division
Medical Authorization Forms
Medical Release forms are sent to each student entering the Freshman class and Transfer students. Should a student require medical treatment while in the care of a Jesuit faculty or staff member, the form is readily available to verify the parents' permission to seek treatment. The form lists the student's last tetanus shot, physician's name and physician's address. The form must be signed by the parent and notarized. This form is kept on file at Jesuit until the student graduates. The form allows the student to participate in off-campus activities. Forms are due to the Records office with registration. Students who do not have Medical Release forms on file by the end of the first day of school will be asked to remain out of school until the completed document is received.
Dual Credit Program
Jesuit is excited to announce a new partnership with St. Louis University (SLU) that will bring an unbelievable dual-credit program to our students and families! SLU, a Jesuit university that is highly regarded within colleges and employment circles, and Dallas Jesuit are united in our goal to better connect the secondary and higher education programs so that students can maximize their academic and career opportunities. This new program will provide all students, regardless of placement or level, to take multiple classes at Jesuit that count towards college credit and/or placement. It is an exciting time to be at Jesuit!
While we currently have opportunities for college credit through local community colleges, we are intentionally choosing to move to SLU for our dual-credit program because of our shared mission to Catholic education and their recognition that Jesuit Dallas students have a stellar reputation at the higher education level. This is, of course, in conjunction with the current offerings of Advanced Placement (AP) courses. We know that many families choose Jesuit for the faith and spiritual formation, in addition to a high caliber academic program, so it for our community to partner with a school with a shared mission. Furthermore, this unique partnership will allow our teachers to continue being innovative and creative within the classroom without any textbook or major curricular restrictions. Jesuit Dallas students will now have the potential, depending on their interests and course selections, to earn upwards of 30 credit hours for just progressing through our college-preparatory curriculum.
More information will be available online in the coming weeks as we begin enrolling students for the fall semester, but we are extremely excited about what this will bring to our community and wanted to share it with you.
If you have any questions about this program, please do not hesitate to reach out to Ben Kirby (bkirby@jesuitcp.org).
