PATRICK "PAT" WALTER CARTER Patrick "Pat" Walter Carter was born April 20, 1938 in Washington, DC. He was the only child of Francis and Helen Carter. Pat graduated from Chamberlin High School in 1956, lettering in football, basketball and baseball. He then went to the University of Virginia for one year. Pat met his wife Jean in the summer of 1956, and married on July 3, 1957. Pat and Jean moved to Dallas in 1961 with their two young daughters, Kimberly and Karri. Pat began his work career at Dallas Love Field with Texas International and then later at DFW with Continental Airlines for over 35 years. In 1962, Pat and Jean became parishioners of Mary Immaculate Church where they became very involved. In 1964 Pat, along with other dedicated dads, began the Mary Immaculate Sports Program. Pat's passion for sports, especially football, has touched the lives of others throughout the years. Pat coached at Mary Immaculate for 15 years. In 1979, Pat took his amazing coaching talents to Jesuit College Preparatory School where he continued for another 18 years. Pat was also involved with the Saint Jude Family Guild. Pat is a Fourth Degree Knight with the Dallas Chapter of The Knights of Columbus and was the Financial Security Officer. Pat and Jean were still very involved with the Saint Jude"s Family Guild. Pat and Jean continued to grow their family with the addition of four more children; sons, Patrick Jr., Daniel, John, and daughter Kyllene. Pats passion for sports influenced all of his own children by instilling discipline, dedication and hard work. The Carters all love sports and cheering on their hometown teams, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, is a tradition at Sunday family gatherings. Pat is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean, and his six children - Kim Miller, Karri Bausch, Pat Carter, Danny Carter, John Carter and Kyllene Carter. Pat is also survived by many grand and great-grand children. Services will be at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch on Friday, Sept. 6. Rosary will be at 10:30 am. Memorial will start at 11:00 am. After the Memorial there will be a get together at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Framers Branch. In lieu of flowers, the Carter Family would like Pat to be honored by donating to the Jesuit Scholarship Memorial Fund in honor of Patrick Carter.
