LACEY, Marie Elizabeth Coe On June 2, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, Marie Elizabeth Coe Lacey of Garland, TX lost her courageous fight with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Marie was born August 21, 1944 and was raised by her parents Ivan and Mary Coe in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1962, and attended San Antonio Junior College and St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Marie married Bart Lacey on September 4, 1965, and together they forged a lifelong love and partnership. She had many passions beyond her faith in the Lord, with her life goals leading her to higher career positions with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in San Antonio, Victoria, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Her greatest joy was making a home for her family and raising her children while supporting Bart's career moves, which ultimately brought them to Garland, Texas. Marie's home reflected her love of warm, sandy beaches and tropical destinations, and most mornings you could find her enjoying a hot cup of coffee and watching the local wildlife from her beloved backyard patio. Marie had a knack for making everybody she met feel important, and will be forever known for her unending kindness toward both friends and strangers alike. She touched the lives of everybody she met, and the world is a better place because of her. Marie is survived by her husband Bart of Garland, TX; daughter Leah Marie (Jim) Pasant of Dallas, TX; son Clay (Wendy) Lacey of Dallas, TX; and grandsons Hayden Lacey of Rockwall, TX, Jacob Rhoades of Dallas, TX, and Brennan Lacey of Dallas, TX. A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 950 Trails Parkway, Garland, TX, with reception to follow. Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
