Francine Beggs Dwyer

FRANCINE BEGGS DWYER returned to her Lord on December 11 at the age of 93. A lifelong resident of Texas, Francine was born on June 28, 1925, in Fort Worth, TX to George Beggs, Jr. and Francine Marie Capera Beggs. She studied at Kemper Hall in Kenosha, Wisconsin and received an Associate's Degree from Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. She also attended business school in Lake Wales, Florida until she was called home at the age of 21 upon the tragic death of her brother Ed Farmer Beggs. Later, after raising her family, Francine returned to college, obtaining a degree in Art and Interior Design from El Centro College in the early '80s. After driving for the Red Cross on the home front during World War II, Francine met and married John Thomas (Jack) Dwyer, Jr from St. Louis, Missouri. After a brief stay in St. Louis, Francine and Jack relocated to Dallas in 1953, where she lived the rest of her life, residing the last 40 years in the house she and Jack built in the Bent Tree Community of North Dallas. While raising her five children, Francine was a frequent volunteer at the numerous schools they attended as well as St. Paul Hospital. She was an accomplished artist, fervent supporter of the Texas Rangers baseball team, and lover of crossword puzzles. She was a lifelong and generous benefactor of the Catholic Church. Francine was preceded in death by her parents; her three siblings: Ed Farmer Beggs, Deborah Beggs Moncrief, George Beggs, III; and her husband Jack, who died at the early age of 60. She is survived by her five children: John Thomas Dwyer, III, Mark Beggs Dwyer, Francine Dwyer O'Reilly (her husband Bob), Andrew Erin Dwyer (his wife Wanda), and Deborah Grace Dwyer; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

There will be visitation at Restland Funeral Home on Friday, December 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, with a rosary commencing at 7:15. Funeral services will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church on Saturday, December 15 at 11:30 AM, with interment immediately following at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family wishes to express its appreciation and gratitude to Edgemere Assisted Living and Hospice Plus for the loving care they gave our mother during her final months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Francine Beggs Dwyer Family Scholarship at Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas.
