Donate Stock

By donating appreciated stocks, you will receive benefits for being an underwriter, you will receive a charitable tax deduction and you avoid paying capital gains taxes. To donate stocks, simply fill out the Letter of Authorization and give to your broker. The LOA gives instructions on how to transfer your stocks to Jesuit. You then fill out and submit an Underwriting Contract to auction stating the amount and name of the donated shares. Please submit the underwriting contract in a timely matter so that we can ensure the auction gets credit for the donation. It's that easy.

In order to qualify, you must have held the stocks to be donated for at least a year. Prior to making a stock donation, please consult your tax or investment advisor.
