Our students are all called to discover “the MAGIS” with the understanding that in seeking to do more for Christ, they will better serve humanity as God’s hands on earth. Only a sophomore, Leo Cruz has embraced an Ignatian spirit and been a model for his class and others. This was on display most recently at the sophomore class retreat, where several faculty and staff took note of his tremendous leadership.

A member of the Jesuit Multicultural Society and a campus ministry leader at Jesuit, Cruz has continued to assume greater responsibility at Holy Trinity Parish and is currently one of the head ushers at Sunday Mass.  

“Leo is a calm presence and a quiet leader in the sophomore class,” said a nominating faculty member. “He is a good student, but more importantly, is a good person.” Another member of the staff shared, “As a young man of great faith, he is eager to share with his peers the importance of the tenets of the Profile of the Graduate through his consistently good work with campus ministry. He is always one of the first to volunteer to lead his class in reflection or prayer and his desire to help others extends well beyond Jesuit.”
