The Jesuit Dallas community hosts over 100 events each academic year, and we wouldn’t be able to achieve our success without our student work force, who often step up to ensure that events run smoothly. Sophomore Carlos Cigarroa is a standout leader with the Jesuit Ground Crew, a group whose purpose is to help with campus events. He was recently lauded by several faculty members, who were quick to point out his exceptional presence during Sophomore Parent Night.

“Carlos went above and beyond to serve Jesuit on a very important night for his classmates and their parents. He arrived early to set up, stayed late to clean up and went beyond the norm with no obligation to do so.”

Another faculty member observed, “Carlos was just extraordinary at Sophomore Parent Night. He sacrificed his own recreation time to meet the needs of the school during the event and showed why he is already considered such a leader.”

Carlos was also selected as a member of the 2021-22 MAGIS program (Mentoring and Guiding Ignatian Students), a mentoring program for middle school students. Said yet another nomination, “Carlos serves as mentor for so many students and participates in an important outreach opportunity that aims to appreciate the diversity of Jesuit, our neighborhoods, and our city.”

Leading by example, congratulations to this week’s Ranger of the Week, Carlos Cigarroa.
