Senior Luke Scott shows special care to his fellow Jesuit students, which is glaringly apparent through his unique appointment to the position of Learning Resource Center peer tutor. An AP Scholar who challenges himself with rigorous academics, Luke made an immediate impact in the student community after transferring as a junior from Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt in Lima, Peru.

“Luke is highly sought out by students of all grades and assists in a number of subjects, including math, science, and language,” shared a faculty nomination. “He gives up his lunch/PRT time and free periods each day, acting as a tutor in the Learning Resource Center.” A student added, “Luke is a generous person who is always willingly to help other students, whether it be with their homework or preparing for any quizzes or tests.”

In Lima, Luke worked with children living in an orphanage, connecting with them through sports and tutoring. Here at Jesuit, he has served the Jesuit and Dallas Communities as a member of the recycling club and in his service work at Equest.

Luke is also vice president of the TedEd Club and a member of the swimming & diving team, where he helped the Rangers clinch their second straight UIL district championship. “Even though Luke was only a first-year member of the team, he expertly mentored the underclassmen and led like a four-year varsity swimmer,” exclaimed one of his coaches. “We wish he swam all four years! Luke will succeed in anything he chooses to pursue in the future.”

Congratulations to Ranger of the Week, Luke Scott.
