Challenge Drive is the Current Parents’ portion of our annual giving program and aims to cover the GAP ($2,640) between tuition collected and the actual cost to educate a student for the academic year without sacrificing the breadth and quality of our academic and extracurricular programs. As Jesuit enters its 81st year of forming Men for Others, I write to you on behalf of the many volunteer parents gearing up to help with this year’s Challenge Drive. It is a critical endeavor and contributes toward our efforts of helping young men receive a life-changing Jesuit experience.
One question people often ask is, why support Jesuit over and above tuition? First, the Challenge Drive helps keep tuition at a level that remains substantially lower than Jesuit’s academic peers, ensuring a best-in-class educational program by bridging the GAP between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. Additionally, a high participation rate in the Challenge Drive is vital in influencing major donors, corporations, and foundations when they are considering where to invest their charitable gifts.
Consider that during the 2022-23 school year, 100% of Jesuit’s faculty and staff made a gift back to the School. That level of commitment demonstrates trust in the School’s mission, and my hope is that we too, as parents, can strive to meet that standard of participation.
This year’s GAP for the 2023-24 academic year is $2,640 for each one of our students. Your contributions directly impact Jesuit’s ability to maintain a world-class academic environment, which in addition to fostering a unique sense of brotherhood, enhances the lives of our sons and our communities.
Your participation in the Challenge Drive is a critical piece of Jesuit’s annual financial plan. A tax-deductible gift to the School, or simply a response to your Challenge Drive representative, is very meaningful to our overall goal. While we would like 100% of our parents to consider a gift at or above this year’s GAP, we understand that this is not always possible. Jesuit is grateful for whatever amount you can contribute. Your gift can also be conveniently spread across multiple payments during the year.
