Based on a selection index score on their junior year PSAT/NMSQT®, these awards recognize the top scoring students who also have academic records at Jesuit to support the scores. Jesuit has a standing record of recognizing students in each category, and over 600 students earning National Merit Commended, Semifinalist, or Finalist distinctions since the program was started.

AP Scholars

The College Board® Advanced Placement® (AP®) program recognizes students who, according to College Board®, “demonstrate outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP® Exams.” Historically, each year Jesuit has over 40 students who qualify for various levels of distinction.

National Recognition Programs

The College Board® also recognizes outstanding Hispanic, African American, and Indigenous high school students who score high on the PSAT/NMSQT® during their sophomore or junior year. Approximately 7,000 students around the country are selected each year. Jesuit is proud to recognize, on average in recent years, over 30 scholars each year through this program.
