Jesuit Dallas is a special place full of talented faculty, enriched by a vibrant alumni base, and blessed with loving and passionate parents. Most importantly, Jesuit is dedicated to educating approximately 1,100 young men in a faith-based environment and developing its students through four years of formation as Men for Others.
Alumni recognize the value of their Jesuit education and support their alma mater by participating in the Alumni Phonathon to preserve Jesuit’s heritage and traditions for current and future Rangers.
Because of your generosity, over 25% of the student body receives financial assistance to attend Jesuit.
Although the Alumni Annual Fund will last until the end of the academic year, we are already planning call nights for next year’s Phonathon. It is a vote of confidence in our school, our faculty, and our educational mission. Not everyone is able to contribute at the same level, so by achieving 100% participation, everyone shares in the effort.
High alumni giving participation is a benchmark used by foundations and outside funders when deciding which of the many worthwhile schools will receive their financial support.
We recognize that there are opportunities to support Jesuit in addition to the Alumni Phonathon, and we appreciate your participation in all of them. However, the School formally asks that you give to the Alumni Phonathon first. It is the most critical funding need and allows the School to continue to achieve its mission and vision – the foundation for the Jesuit experience.
School fundraising events are important in providing supplemental funding for expenses outside of the operating budget - the “nice to haves.” The Alumni Phonathon is the School’s only fundraising effort that covers the “need to haves” - faculty support, programs and technology, financial aid, and arts and athletics. Additionally, the Alumni Phonathon is 100% tax-deductible. We hope that you participate in special events such as the Celebration Auction and/or the MAGIS, but we ask that you make giving to the Alumni Phonathon your first priority.
The School Board tries to keep tuition as low as possible so as many families as possible will be able to afford a Jesuit education. Raising tuition would restrict even further the number of families who could attend the school. At the same time, we must maintain the excellence of our academic programs. Charitable contributions help us achieve both goals.
