Bazaar History

The mission of the Jesuit Women’s Auxiliary (JWA) is to support the Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, and its current students and alumni in all its endeavors. JWA members include mothers of current students, mothers and wives of alumni as well as friends of Jesuit Dallas.

The JWA Christmas Bazaar has been held the first Saturday in December for almost 30 years. Every year the proceeds of this event provide a significant gift to the School and funds from the JWA Christmas Bazaar have been used to benefit all students and the community, including:

  • Construction of the Anderson parking lot
  • Remodeled cafeteria
  • Senior Courtyard
  • Landscaping of the Prayer Garden
  • Furniture for the renovated library
  • Sound system in the Terry Center assembly hall
  • Renovation of Postell stadium

Additionally, the JWA has established annual scholarships for three current students, underwrites the Jesuit Celebration Auction and its quest for additional need-based financial aid, and provides meaningful support for the Jesuit Dallas Museum’s annual ArtQuest.

Initially centered on craft and art items sold in a small section of the School, the JWA Christmas Bazaar has grown significantly in the three decades since it was established. Now covering a vast majority of campus with over 100 vendors selling a myriad of collectables and products, the event has become synonymous with the Christmas season in the local community, as thousands of patrons participate in one of the most fun traditions on the calendar.
