A student leader in Jesuit’s service immersion activities, junior Daniel Aranzazu served as a leadership ambassador at the immigration center in Monterrey, Mexico over Thanksgiving break, and led encounters with those who have been directly impacted by the experience of migrating in order to escape challenges in Central America, including many families with small children.

A US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer coach where he works with athletes with intellectual, emotional, and or physical disabilities, Daniel is an inclusive leader and team builder. Said one faculty nomination, “Daniel always puts others first. We are grateful for his creative energy in developing several key elements of our immigration program in Monterrey, Mexico. Adult team members consistently commented on his ability to unify the team across cultural and linguistic barriers as a leader.”

Added another nomination: “Daniel is a very studious young man who takes his academics seriously. He asks excellent questions, and he is always on task. I know he really enjoys his service experience, and willingly sacrifices his time to help the less fortunate.”

Congratulations to Ranger of the Week, Daniel Aranzazu.
