Junior Joshua Chacko has provided tremendous leadership in the success of the Hope Squad and Jesuit’s commitment to be more active in the awareness and education of those adversely impacted by mental health issues. As an inaugural member of the Hope Squad, Chacko has helped coordinate the group’s initial outreach and activities, including Hope Week, and has been praised by both students and teachers for his work.
“Joshua is such a fantastic student,” said a nominating faculty member. “The fact that he was voted to the Hope Squad because of so many peer nominations is a testament to his character and a reflection of how his classmates feel about him.”
A student added, “The goal of Hope Squad is to serve as a resource for Jesuit students while reducing the stigma around mental health. Joshua is eager to help others and really cares about his Jesuit brothers.”
A member of the Spanish Honor Society and a School Ambassador, Chacko performs in the band and men’s chorus at Jesuit, and serves in Interact, a leadership club whose primary goal is to cultivate diversity in thought and action through service to and with the refugee population of Dallas.
Congratulations to this week’s Ranger of the Week, Joshua Chacko.
