Senior Sam Steffler has been lauded by his teachers, coaches, and peers for his boundless “man for others” spirit. As a captain of Jesuit’s district-winning swimming & diving team, service site leader, and Executive Big Brother, Sam sets a tremendous example for his peers.
“Sam’s commitment to Crossroads Community Services and Meals on Wheels has been extraordinary,” said one of his teachers. “The site director has commented on his leadership and his kind, understanding demeanor in working with the clients.” Another faculty member shared, “Sam has a gift for working with younger students, his nurturing supportive nature is evident in every interaction. He is dedicated, mature, and an outstanding student.”
When not serving in the community or working with younger Jesuit students, Sam spends a lot of his time in the water as a member of the Rangers’ swimming & diving and water polo teams. His efforts this year helped lead Jesuit to the UIL District Championship and a top 20 finish at the state championships, while he earned Academic All-America honors following the season.
“Sammy is a great captain and teammate,” said one his classmates. “He is smart, hardworking, and quick to put the needs of others ahead of his own.”
Congratulations to Ranger of the Week, Sam Steffler.
