Senior Anthony Lucido has been described as earnest, reliable, and dependable, while serving in a myriad of leadership roles across campus. A terrific student with a demonstrated passion for supporting his peers, Anthony has been instrumental in the continued evolution of the Smokies, Jesuit’s wonderful and seemingly ever-present barbecue club.

A nomination for Anthony shared, “Anthony is one of the most genuine and reliable students I know. He has a great sense of humor, an intelligent and perceptive mind, and he is always willing to pitch in whenever there is work to do. He makes an impact everywhere he goes, is vital to the barbecue club, and I would trust him to take care of just about anything.”

An administrator and teacher added, “For the last two years, Anthony has acted as a mentor and tutor to students in the Learning Resource Center. Adopting a ‘wherever you need me’ mindset, he often sits among younger students who are struggling to focus, helping them to stay on task, as well as helping students of all ages to understand content in a variety of subjects. Positive and patient, Anthony is a valuable presence in the LRC.”

Anthony, who is part of the Ignatian Service Corps and Big Brothers at Jesuit, is also a two-time team captain of the Rangers’ nationally ranked rugby team that opened the 2023 season with eight straight wins, including impressive victories over Lake Travis, Allen, and Jesuit New Orleans. One of his coaches offered, “Anthony is a wonderful leader and a tremendous representative of our community. Twice he has been voted as team captain by his peers, a testament to his work ethic, commitment, and the admiration of his fellow Jesuit students.”

Congratulations to Ranger of the Week, Anthony Lucido.
