A dedicated student and friend, Sebastian Suwanda ’26 has made a tremendous impact at Jesuit through his involvement in service, clubs, athletics, and faith-based organizations. Identified as a leader and true Man for Others among his peers and teachers, he has been quick to embrace opportunities to grow and inspire those around him.

“Kind, hard-working, and compassionate, Sebastian approaches every day at Jesuit with a deep sense of gratitude and a commendable commitment to excellence,” professed a member of the faculty. “For Sebastian, being a Jesuit Ranger is something in which he takes great pride. He's driven without ever being prideful, loving without seeking attention, and big-hearted without expecting accolades. He's a model Jesuit student and we're fortunate to have him on our campus, impacting lives for Christ.”

The 2023 recipient of the Susan and Jon Piot Family Scholarship, Sebastian was honored on four separate occasions at the 2023 Underclassmen Convocation, which highlighted his work with the campus ministry team, his leadership with Rangers for Life, and excellence in journalism through The RoundUp. Additionally, he received a Magis award for his commitment to academics.

A trusted admissions ambassador and member of the Jesuit Dallas Swimming & Diving team, Sebastian models an active faith life by regularly attending and serving as a lector for daily morning Mass while extolling the virtues of the Jesuit mission. Said one of his coaches, “Sebastian is always one of the first to arrive to practice where he leads through prayer and serves as our student chaplain. As a swimmer, he is intensely competitive, yet he exhibits the most outstanding sportsmanship, which has a tremendous positive impact on our team culture. His love of Jesuit is infectious, and we are blessed to have him in our program!”

Congratulations to sophomore Sebastian Suwanda, Jesuit Dallas Ranger of the Week!
