The inaugural president of the Rangers for Life club, senior Christopher Matthews ’25 worked diligently with students, faculty, and administration this past year to push for new initiatives and help raise awareness for Jesuit’s pro-life student organization. Regarded highly for his loyalty, work ethic, and kindness, Chris’ dedication toward those efforts has been widely recognized.

“It was our first year to have a president of the Rangers for Life club and he did not disappoint,” wrote one faculty moderator. “Chris helped bring in guest speakers, worked with Jesuit administration to ensure the club was able to attend the March for Life in Washington D.C., and was instrumental in the success of our first diaper drive which resulted in over 8,000 diapers being donated to four maternity homes and pregnancy resource centers. He continuously engaged students of all grade levels in deep discussion with thoughtful questions, activities, and prayers.”

A member of the multicultural society and real estate clubs, Chris is an associate editor for The Roundup and a varsity contributor for Jesuit Dallas Rugby. Chris is completing his service practicum this year at St. Mary of Carmel, where, as team leader, he has earned praise from the principal and teachers, who have shared their appreciation for his positive attitude and the example he provides for their students. He is also completing his senior service intensive experience at Catholic Charities in Jesuit’s Manna for Others program.

“Chris has a natural curiosity that really enriches the classroom discussion,” another nomination described. “He is not afraid to ask questions and dig deeper into the material. Everyone in the class benefits from this. He is a strong and loyal person. I am super excited to see what is next for him.”

Congratulation to Ranger of the Week, Jesuit Dallas senior Christopher Matthews ’25!
