One of five Jesuit Dallas seniors recently announced as a National Merit Finalist, Conor Parro ’25 was described by a classmate as someone who “sets a positive tone for our school community.” Demonstrating a deep commitment to academics, faith, service, and the student experience, Conor began the fall semester as a Community Days leader and has maintained that spirit throughout the year.

“Conor stands out in the top 1% of students I have been lucky to teach over the past 15 years,” said an admiring faculty member. “He is kind, hardworking, positive, and caring. I see him as a true Man for Others and someone whom I am honored to teach and to know.” Another faculty member added, “Conor is my top student in a difficult class. He is always prepared, attentive and calm. He is also self-disciplined, diligent, curious, and able to make sophisticated connections with the course material that far exceeds his peers.”

In addition to earning top accolades from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, Conor is also an AP Scholar with Distinction. He is a part of the engineering society, Captain’s Club, and Catholic Athletes for Christ. Conor is a two-time team captain of the Jesuit Dallas varsity hockey team and scored the final goal of the season in the Rangers’ win over Highland Park. He has helped lead service initiatives at Notre Dame School of Dallas and the Low Vision Eye Clinic and is part of Jesuit’s inaugural cohort at St. Joseph’s Residence Nursing Home, where he attends Sunday Mass and provides physical assistance to the residents.

“Conor is the heartbeat of our hockey team and the glue that keeps our group on the right path,” said a member of the coaching staff. “He’s an incredible two-way player who flourishes in any situation, but his sacrifice and commitment to our program sets the expectation for what it means to be a Jesuit Ranger. Conor is an incredible student athlete, but an even better human being. It's been an honor to watch him grow into the Man for Others he has become.”

Congratulations to Conor Parro ’25, Jesuit Dallas Ranger of the Week!
