Senior Jack Yeskie is helping to lead Jesuit Hunger Relief, a new initiative focused on alleviating hunger across Dallas through the work of several agencies. As a member of the Gonzaga cohort, he has served meals with City Square and the VNA Meals Distribution Program and has been commended for his efforts by fellow students, staff, and agency partners.
“A true scholar-athlete, Jack models genuine leadership in the classroom, in the spiritual formation of our students, and in service to the community,” described one nomination. “He is one of the most reliable student leaders at Jesuit, and routinely faces challenges with a positive, uplifting attitude.”
An AP Scholar with Distinction, Jack recently served as a leader at Senior Community Days and was a small group leader at this year’s freshman retreat. His role in the spiritual formation of the newest members of the Jesuit community is a major commitment and one that has been noted on many occasions by peers and faculty.
In addition to his work as an Executive Big Brother and his training in Jesuit’s new docent program at the Museum of Biblical Art, Jack is also a valued member of the Jesuit Dallas football program and was one of the team’s top projected offensive players until an unfortunate injury cut his senior season short. In his only game appearance this year, he scored an 87-yard touchdown, the longest play of the season.
“Jack is a very smart young man always looking to grow in all aspects of his life,” one of his coaches shared. “He’s faced some adversity with his injury during football and has handled it with nothing but grace. Although he’s currently unable to play, Jack attends every practice and film session, demonstrating deep care for his teammates.” Another nomination simply reported, “Jack Yeskie, an absolutely brilliant young man and a joy to have in the classroom.”
Congratulations to Ranger of the Week, Jack Yeskie ’25!
