Sophomore Max Galante '27 was recently selected to serve on the UT Southwestern Medical Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care Youth Advisory Board for the 2024-25 school year. A second-year member of Jesuit’s nationally recognized chapter of Hope Squad, Max has been a staunch advocate for mental health, leading and supporting programs at Christ the King and the Grant Halliburton Foundation, respectively.
Described in numerous nominations as an exceptional young man, one faculty member explained, “Max Galante is truly one of a kind. He is incredibly talented in a wide variety of areas while remaining remarkably humble. A joy to teach, Max comes to class every day ready to learn, engage, and ask meaningful questions. His humility allows him to put himself out there without fear of failure. This allows him to get the most out of his Jesuit experience. As I taught Max last year, I felt like I watched him become a man for others more and more each day.”
Max is an active member of the Jesuit Musicians Union, and as such, is a major contributor to the school’s Open Mic program held monthly during lunch and community time. He has also been lauded as a wonderful ambassador for Jesuit Dallas Stage & Film, specifically in his efforts to improve the program and build community.
Providing service as a participant in the HEROES summer camp program through First United Methodist Church where he was an activity group leader for students with various developmental differences, Max has received accolades for his work as an Admissions Ambassador, with one visiting family remarking, “He is a terrific tour guide. He obviously loves attending Jesuit and has a deep understanding of the mission here.”
“Max is a natural leader, and a young man who looks after others in friendship and in school,” shared another nomination. “He is highly motivated and goes above and beyond for everyone around him, making sure that everyone is seen and heard. Max is also consistently upbeat and positive and his presence in the theater commons and elsewhere has a positive impact on all those around him.”
Congratulations to Ranger of the Week, Max Galante ’27
