Serving as a Kairos leader this past week, senior André Cornejo ’26 once again demonstrated a positive attitude and a giving spirit. An excellent student managing an impressive course load (12+ AP classes), André is described as “one of the most impactful and spiritual leaders for our younger students, but also a great mentor for new upperclassmen who are leading the freshman retreat for the first time. His peers look to him for guidance and inspiration.”
An Executive Big Brother and multi-year freshman retreat leader who was also elected to serve as a leader on Community Days, André is a member of the AMDG Program, Hermanos Unidos, Spanish Honor Society, and leader of the Lone Rangers. This past fall, he served a lead role in Jesuit Stage & Film’s production of Night of the Living Dead.
“André is an invaluable member of the stage & film community,” a program director exclaimed. “Not only is he an outstanding actor, but he is always prepared and offers acts of service behind the scenes to make sure our productions run smoothly. André is a mass of mass of positive energy who inspires younger Rangers to be more!”
André is the service site ambassador for the Ignatian Scholars Program at Our Lady of Perpetual where teachers have commented on the ways that he encourages students in the classroom while motivating his Jesuit brothers. He has also participated in the Guatemala Solidarity Service Immersion Program as a translator, helping other students to better connect with the experience in dialogue with families and community leaders at service agencies, while also serving as s a tutor in the Jesuit Learning Center.
“A tireless and steadfast worker, André is an exceptional leader by example,” one nomination read. “He is relatable and supportive, yet he also challenges others to be better. Working with him is always fun and productive.”
Congratulations to Ranger of the Week, André Cornejo ’26!
