Seeking a way to make a positive impact in his community, senior Barrett Gibbins ’26 co-founded Movies with a Mission, which is a student-led fundraising initiative dedicated to supporting Children’s Health through red-carpet movie screenings and community engagement. Since its founding, Movies with a Mission has grown into a community entrepreneurship movement, raising over $120,000 to date for Children’s Health Dallas through 13 red carpet film events welcoming over 5,800 guests.
“Barret has a contagious positive attitude that lifts everyone around him,” a nomination read. “He has a marvelous spirit of service and brings a genuine positive and fun energy into all his encounters.”
A three-year member of Jesuit Dallas Crew, Barrett played a key role in a landmark performance for the Rangers at the 2025 Stotesbury Cup Regatta, which earned gold competing at the most prestigious high school regatta in the nation. Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Barrett has shown consistent leadership and commitment through his service work and currently serves as senior site ambassador at Notre Dame School of Dallas. He represented Jesuit Dallas at the Ignatian Family Teach-In student summit in Washington, D.C. this past fall and is completing his senior service intensive at My Martial Arts, a karate program that supports children and adults with special educational needs.
“It is not surprising to see Barrett thriving in all areas of the Profile of the Grad,” said one of his coaches. “He is respectful, hardworking, and a good student and teammate. Barrett is a high character, high caliber individual who represents Jesuit and our program exceptionally well.”
Congratulations to Barrett Gibbins ’26, Jesuit Dallas Ranger of the Week!
