It was a tremendous week for sophomore Brennan Gorbatenko ’28, who received numerous nominations from students and staff for his exceptional leadership. As one of Jesuit Hope Squad’s most dedicated members, Brennan took the lead for many of the events on campus during a very successful Hope Week. At the end of the week, he interviewed prospective students as part of his role as an admissions ambassador, providing great feedback while helping to shape the next class of Jesuit students.
“Brennan is one of the most genuine students you will ever meet,” a counselor said. “His warm personality naturally draws people in, and he has a remarkable ability to make everyone in the room feel welcomed and valued. He is a kind and compassionate individual who consistently demonstrates care and respect for those around him. Whether through simple acts of kindness or meaningful conversations, he creates a positive and inclusive environment wherever he goes.”
A member of the Jesuit Dallas Basketball program and Jesuit Sports Media Club, Brennan was accepted into the Guatemala Social Justice and Immersion Program where this summer he will join with a group of students supporting the local Catholic Church and residents in the Lake Atitlan region. As an admissions ambassador, Brennan has regularly provided tours of the campus, led Q&A panels for visiting prospective parents, and conducted new applicant interviews, while he has also visited several middle schools this past year leading discussions on mental health and wellness.
“Brennan truly embodies what it means to be a well-rounded student who leads with integrity, purpose, and heart,” another nomination described. “Brennan is a natural born leader who is widely respected for his compassion for others and constant commitment to service. He is a joy to be around and is an exceptionally hard-working and dedicated student who excels academically while remaining deeply committed to the mission and spirit of the school.”
