A model student who routinely stretches to make a positive impact on our school community, junior Griffin Civello ’27 has been intimately involved in the spiritual formation of the student body. A leader in Catholic Athletes for Christ, Griffin was outstanding in representing Jesuit Dallas at the Family Teach-In for Justice in Washington, D.C.
“Griffin Civello is a young man you can point to as an example of someone who goes about doing everything the right way,” described a member of the coaching staff. “Whether in the classroom or on the field, Griffin is a leader, someone who leads by example through his consistency, accountability, and quiet confidence. He earns the respect of his teammates and coaches not by what he says, but by the standard he holds himself to every single day, and he truly embodies what it means to be a Man for Others, always putting his teammates and those around him before himself.”
In addition to being a three-year member of Jesuit Dallas Baseball – where he is also the student chaplain for the varsity team, Griffin conducts interviews and leads tours as an admissions ambassador and was a small group leader for this year’s freshman retreat. A member of the Captain’s Club, he is also a leader in campus ministry, and has guided the school through the daily Examen, morning prayer, and at Mass. Last fall, he was part of the social justice immersion team in Monterrey, Mexico.
A student remarked, “Griffin is a kind, compassionate, and humble leader. He never seeks the spotlight for himself but instead answers the call to serve,” while another nomination said, “Griffin leads by example in everything he does. In the classroom he is a focused student who is always more than willing to live the MAGIS and not only take care of his own responsibilities but help those around him as well. Outside of the classroom, he meets all opportunities with gratitude and joy. Unfailingly respectful, hardworking, honest, and authentic, his quiet confidence makes him approachable to his peers and admirable in the eyes of his teachers.”
Congratulation to Griffin Civello ’27, Jesuit Dallas Ranger of the Week!
