Exemplifying a true spirit of servant leadership, junior Joaquín López’s leadership helped energize his classmates and contributed to the largest single-agency food drive our service program has ever hosted, providing meals and groceries for 100 families in need this Thanksgiving. Later this week, Joaquín will serve as a student translator on the Monterrey Service and Leadership Program, helping ensure his peers can fully engage in the experience.

“Joaquín expresses a deep joy in serving others,” a program director noted. “He is a true Man for Others as he genuinely shows care for his peers and others. He lives the school motto and is an exemplary role model in his faith life as well.”

A campus ambassador, and member of Jesuit Dallas Cross Country, Stage & Film, and the multicultural society, Joaquín spent part of last summer in Guadalajara, Mexico participating in Jesuit’s first collaborative program with the Down Syndrome Family Guild, and he is a key leader in the junior chapter of Fighting Homelessness this year. As one of the of the many students who form the backbone of the Jesuit BBQ Smokies, he served on the Blue Team at last weekend’s High School BBQ Ft. Worth Regional.

“Joaquín cares so much about the outcome of his work,” said a fellow student. “He always volunteers to get things done and enjoys working the tougher jobs alongside his Jesuit brothers.” One of his coaches added, “Joaquín leads by example and is always ready to step forward and take on a task or challenge and give it his best shot. His generosity, humility, and drive make him a great role model for his peers.”

Congratulations to Jesuit Dallas Ranger of the Week, Joaquín López ’27!
