Demonstrating a remarkable commitment to faith and service, senior Lucas Cruz ’26 has used his talents to deepen his own faith while bringing joy to others. A dedicated member of the Jesuit Dallas Campus Ministry program where he has been an altar server and extraordinary communion minister, Lucas has been committed to his spiritual growth and his impact as a Man for Others

“Lucas is an outstanding mentor for many of our younger students and has been an invaluable resource to the Jesuit Multicultural Society, Hermanos Unidos, and the Jesuit Higher Achievement Program,” a counselor shared. “He lives his faith-life through service and uses his musical gifts as a member of the Jesuit Music Outreach Team to perform each week around the metroplex at schools, nursing homes, and special education centers.”

The 2025 recipient of the T.J. Martinez, S.J. Memorial Scholarship for his distinguished record of community service, Lucas was part of the Ignatian Service Corps as an underclassman and has volunteered at Soul Church, Museum of Biblical Art, St. Joseph’s Residence, and numerous events locally and abroad, including the service immersion trip to Guatemala. A multi-time all-region selection in band, he holds a leadership role in the Jazz Band and serves as woodwind sectional leader in the Jesuit Ursuline Ranger Band.

“Lucas Cruz is a servant leader whose creativity, consistency, and teamwork benefit his brothers and our agency partners,” said a program director. “He brings fellowship, rhythm, joy, and genuine connection to every person he encounters. His reliability and commitment elevate everyone around him.”

Congratulations to senior Lucas Cruz ’26, Jesuit Dallas Ranger of the Week!
