Debate Team takes Third Place in both Varsity and Novice Divisions at Colleyville Heritage Invitational

The Debate Team earned Third Place Honors in both the Varsity and Novice Divisions at the Colleyville Heritage Invitational this past weekend where 70 teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, and Arkansas competed.  In the varsity division, Jesuit had five teams finish the preliminary rounds 4-1 and earned top 16 seeds with wins over teams from Oklahoma, Kansas, San Antonio, Austin, Denton, Highland Park, Grapevine, Greenhill, and Coppell.  The team of seniors Riler Holcombe and Jack Moore earned 3rd place after reaching the semifinals, the team of senior Jack Griffiths and junior Garrett Nagorzanski earned 5th place after reaching the quarterfinals and the teams of seniors Gio Ferrer-Falto and Ethan Jackson, seniors Jack Madden and Pete Weigman and junior Adam Hall and senior Chris Tran tied for 9th place honors after losing in the first elimination round.In the Novice Division the team of freshmen Aarin Jain and junior Chris Martin earned 3rd place honors after reaching the semifinals.  Jain and Martin were 4-1 and earned the 3rd seed after the preliminary rounds competing against teams from Little Rock Arkansas, Oklahoma City, Grapevine and Coppell.  They defeated Casady Oklahoma in the quarterfinals before losing to Austin Liberal Arts and Sciences in the semifinals.
