Jesuit Multicultural Society
The JMS is a retention and awareness program designed to increase awareness and appreciation of various cultures and their roles in American life. Because diversity can also include among other things religion, gender, ability/disability, geography, and socio-economic status, the JMS will also strive to appreciate these other aspects of diversity in addition to race / ethnicity and seek to explore how they all interconnect. Following the tradition of St. Ignatius, the group will strive to discover the magis—the more—in each other. There is a JMS Executive Council consisting of four seniors who have applied for this Diversity Leadership position, and the council assists the Director with JMS meetings as well as the direction and activities of the organization.
